About
I’m a guitarist, teacher, songwriter, and lifelong music nut. This page should give a little insight into how I got here, and what I aim to achieve through playing and teaching

Why I Play
As a classically trained guitarist, I’ve built my playing on a solid foundation of technique and discipline – and I’d recommend that path to any new player. I’ll be honest – I love the flashy stuff. Melting faces with a good solo? Yes please. But the real satisfaction comes when you’ve got the “keys to the Lamborghini” and can let loose with your own sound. Music has always been my way to connect with people, express what words can’t, or just get lost for a while. And there’s nothing quite like finally nailing a riff or solo you’ve been grinding on for weeks – that perfect take is magic.
Why I Teach
Teaching wasn’t something I had planned – it just happened naturally. Back in primary school, I spent a lot of time around the music department and one week, when my guitar teacher couldn’t make it, I ended up running sessions instead. Friends and younger students kept asking for help after that, and I realised I genuinely enjoyed breaking things down, sharing my passion, and watching someone’s face light up when it finally clicks. I’m still learning myself – and that’s what keeps teaching exciting. It’s never static. There’s always something new to explore, and I love to share that with others.
So Far…
I’ve been playing guitar for over 20 years, starting out with my best mate — who was an absolute hard rock legend and taught me everything in those early years. I picked up classical lessons around age 7, and that world shaped a lot of my technique and discipline as I worked up to Grade 8 and diploma level. Around 10, I discovered electric guitar and something just clicked. From there, it became about tone, expression, and finding my own voice on the instrument.
I went on to study Contemporary and Popular Music at Newcastle university, but honestly, most of what’s shaped me has come from playing, jamming, failing, starting again, and learning from the people around me. These days, I split my time between writing, teaching, and performing – always trying to keep things creative, honest, and rooted in why I started in the first place.

Let’s Talk Music
Whether I’m teaching, performing, or working on new ideas, I’m always looking for ways to connect through music. I don’t have all the answers – but I’ve got a few good chords, a sense of humour, and a real passion for helping people find their sound. If you’re up for collaborating, learning, or just talking shop, feel free to get in touch – I’d love to hear from you.
